Young Ceramists in the Spotlight
Résumé
The Young Ceramists Network (YCN) was established by the European
Ceramic Society (ECerS) to build a platform to promote the
networking between young researchers and professionals that are active
in the ceramic-related fields worldwide from academia to the industrial
sector. With the help of the newly established open access journal, Open
Ceramics, the YCN aims to promote the visibility of their fellow young
ceramists, who finished their PhD no more than 10 years ago and who
are conducting excellent research in the field of ceramics, by inviting
them to publish their recent work in a special issue (SI) entitled “Young
Ceramists in the Spotlight”.
This SI shows the lastest advances achieved in ceramics and glasses
by young ceramists from around the world. The collected contributions
from younger geerations resemble their vision and impact on the advances
on ceramic sciences covering topics from glasses to refractories,
electroceramics to bioceramics, traditional ceramics to advanced ceramics,
non-conventional processing methods to novel characterization
techniques and analysis.
